Our Story
The Eureka moment occurred in 2015 when, during a rather boring meeting, Miguel thought to himself “How can I disrupt the tour operation industry?” By that point he had been the Managing Director of a successful Tour Operator and Destination Management Company for over ten years, and he knew the industry was full of friction caused by inadequate legacy software, unstandardised services, niche operators, and wide variety of other factors.
The answer came to him surprisingly easily: remove the ‘middleman’, remove the tour operator: allow travellers to book directly with the local service providers whilst still offering the financial protection and customer experience that the travellers require. He knew he had a unique model which would please both travellers and local operators in the destinations. Just need the right software which was developed in-house.
WeBookDirect’s vision is to make the whole world accessible to our customers by 2025. We believe that booking a complex itinerary should be dead easy and in real-time. Any interest, any itinerary, any country, should be straightforward to book and always at the best possible price.
